Dr Rolle Alho - Visiting Research Fellow

Rolle is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Jyväskylä. Between June 2017 and March 2018, he had joined as Visiting Fellow in both the UCD Business School's HRM & Employment Relations Group and the UCD Geary Institute for Public Policy. Rolle's visit at UCD was part of an Academy of Finland-funded research project called Industrial Citizenship and Labour Mobility in the EU, a migrant-centered study of Estonia-Finland and Albania-Italy. While in Dublin, Rolle interviewed - for an upcoming article - Irish trade union representatives on their views on immigration. Besides interviewing, Rolle was editing a book on mobility between Finland and Estonia.

Rolle received his PhD from the University of Turku in 2015. In his thesis, Rolle analysed Finnish and Estonian trade unions' approaches to immigration. He holds a personal postdoctoral grant from the Finnish Work Environment Fund for conducting research on highly educated migrants' integration in the Finnish labour market.

Rolle's research interests lie at the crossroads of migration and employment relations research. His university profile provides further information.
